Softball Recap: South Brunswick Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

South Brunswick and South Central squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but South Brunswick had to settle for second. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. The match marked the first time this year in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.

Kina Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

With the loss, South Brunswick broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-3. As for South Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

South Brunswick does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Central, they will face off against Scotland on Friday. The Fighting Scots will roll in looking for their 25th straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight.
