Basketball Recap: Cotton Center Falls Despite Big Games from Andee Nelson and Kylee Prutzman

Cotton Center lost against Meadow on January 10th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cotton Center Elks lost 49-23 to the Meadow Broncos.

Cotton Center's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kylee Prutzman, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, and Andee Nelson, who posted no points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds Nelson has posted since back in November of 2024.

Even though they lost, Cotton Center smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups.

Cotton Center has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season. As for Meadow, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

Cotton Center will head out on the road to square off against Anton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Meadow, they will face off against Whitharral at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Whitharral will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Meadow surely won't give up without a fight.
