Volleyball Recap: Shawnee Mission West Takes a Loss

Shawnee Mission West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Louisburg Wildcats. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Shawnee Mission West was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Louisburg work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 15-25, 25-12.

Shawnee Mission West's loss dropped their record down to 3-8-2. As for Louisburg, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-4.

Shawnee Mission West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Shawnee Mission East on the 27th. As for Louisburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Olathe North on the 27th.
