Softball Recap: Lawrence County Comes Up Short

Lawrence County was the 20-1 winner over Greenup County when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs lost 8-2 to the Musketeers on Monday.

Lawrence County's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Greenup County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.

Lawrence County will head out on the road to square off against Lewis County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Greenup County, they will square off against Cabell Midland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Musketeers surely won't give up without a fight.
