Soccer Game Preview: Crystal River vs. Vanguard

Crystal River is 0-8-1 against Vanguard since November of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Crystal River Pirates will square off against the Vanguard Knights at 7:00 p.m.

Crystal River is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was Crystal River who was credited with the win. Crystal River got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Dunnellon's three.

Vanguard is headed into Tuesday's following a draw, the team's first since November 6. Neither they nor West Port could gain the upper hand last Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Crystal River's victory bumped their record up to 3-14-1. Vanguard's draw gives them a new season record of 11-3-2.

Crystal River came up short against Vanguard when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Crystal River avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
