Softball Game Preview: Lone Peak Knights vs. Lehi Pioneers

Lone Peak is 0-9 against Lehi since April of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Knights will face off against the Pioneers at 3:30 p.m. Lone Peak has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lone Peak is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Pleasant Grove, falling 19-4.

Maggie Nelson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Madisen Barnes was another key player, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, while Lehi put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for American Fork. The Pioneers put the hurt on the Cavemen with a sharp 14-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Pioneers in their matchups with the Cavemen: they've now won nine in a row.

Lone Peak's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Lehi, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.

Lone Peak might still be hurting after the 17-1 defeat they got from Lehi when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
