Basketball Recap: Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage Takes a Loss

Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Mineral County Serpents, falling 49-5. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Serpents apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Mineral County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Raeane Johnson, who posted 11 points and four steals. Johnson continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jazmin Serrato, who had eight points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Mineral County, they moved to 3-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-21 defeat against Pyramid Lake on the 11th. As for Mineral County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-18 loss against Virginia City on the 10th.
