Basketball Recap: CSTHEA's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

CSTHEA entered their contest against Bluegrass on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The CSTHEA Patriots fell just short of the Bluegrass Blazers by a score of 49-47. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 90-69 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

CSTHEA's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Swanson, who made all 8 shots he took racking up 18 points. Swanson is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ivan Huffman, who posted nine points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists.

CSTHEA's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-4. As for Bluegrass, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.

CSTHEA wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 51-45 win against Bradley Knights on the 9th. As for Bluegrass, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rocket City at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
