Softball Recap: Calaveras Extends Winning Streak to Three

Calaveras entered their tilt with Capuchino on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Mustangs.

Kamryn Thornburg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Emma Clark was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last 11 matchups. Kendra Baechler was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Calaveras' victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Capuchino, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.

Looking ahead, Calaveras will take on Inderkum in a tournament on Saturday. The Red Hawks are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Capuchino, they will welcome San Mateo at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
