Softball Recap: West Side Eagles vs. Viola Longhorns
After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last seven matches, West Side finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They suffered a rough 11-1 loss at the hands of the Viola Longhorns. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Side in their matchups with Viola: they've now lost five in a row.
West Side's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Viola, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
West Side will be playing in front of their home fans against Shirley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shirley is coming into the game with four straight victories on the road, so West Side will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Viola, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Calico Rock at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
