Basketball Game Preview: Hugo Buffaloes vs. Broken Bow Savages

Hugo hasn't had much luck against Broken Bow recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Hugo Buffaloes will look to defend their home court against the Broken Bow Savages at 6:30 p.m.

Hugo is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They received a blow as they fell 71-52 to Kingston. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Redskins are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, Broken Bow had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They blew past the Bulldogs 61-16. The Savages have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 25 points or more this season.

Broken Bow's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.3 points over those games. As for Hugo, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Hugo was taken down by Broken Bow 59-31 when the teams last played back in January. Can Hugo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
