Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Floyd County

Floyd County took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Glenvar, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Buffaloes narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Highlanders 5-4. The victory was familiar territory for the Buffaloes, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Emma Biesterveld spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ava DeJesus was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

Floyd County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.

Floyd County's record is now 14-7. As for Glenvar, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-7.

As of now, neither Floyd County nor the Highlanders have any future games scheduled.
