Volleyball Game Preview: Lincoln Hornets vs. Christian Patriots

The Lincoln Hornets will face off against the Christian Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lincoln saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Monte Vista. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lincoln was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Crawford by a score of 3-2. While the Patriots didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Colts 25-9 in the first set.

Christian actually scored more points across those five sets (113-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 9-25, 20-25, 26-24, 28-26, 15-13.

Lincoln will have to keep a close watch on Trae Pheasant and Jack McGinnis, a pair of players who had a big impact on Christian's prior game. Pheasant had 12 digs and 12 assists, while McGinnis had 15 digs.

Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

Lincoln took their win against Christian in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
