Recap: Ripon Indians vs. Leadership

The Ripon Indians scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They put the hurt on Leadership with a sharp 67-44 victory. The score was close at the half, but Ripon pulled away in the second half with 40 points.

Ripon can attribute much of their success to Landon Gillespie, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Dawson Downs was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.

The win makes it two in a row for Ripon and bumps their season record up to 8-5. As for Leadership, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ripon will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Stone Ridge Christian at 11:00 a.m. on December 27th. Stone Ridge Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Leadership will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tennyson at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Tennyson is on a five-game streak of home wins, Leadership a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
