Basketball Recap: Blue Ridge Early College Takes a Loss

Blue Ridge Early College lost against Invest Collegiate Imagine two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Blue Ridge Early College Bobcats took a blow against the Invest Collegiate Imagine Kingfishers, falling 62-20.

Blue Ridge Early College's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Baumgarner, who posted four points and four steals.

Leading Invest Collegiate Imagine to victory were Tyson Elliott and Asa Gura. Elliott went 7 of 13 on his way to 15 points and five steals, while Gura put up 14 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Gura has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Meyer, who had eight points.

Blue Ridge Early College now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Invest Collegiate Imagine, the win was the seventh in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Blue Ridge Early College wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-35 victory against Shining Rock Classical Academy on the 4th. As for Invest Collegiate Imagine, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-24 win against The Franklin School of Innovation on the 10th.
