Recap: Mt. Diablo Red Devils vs. Acalanes Dons
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Mt. Diablo Red Devils, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were outmatched by Acalanes on the road and fell 56-14. Mt. Diablo was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.
Leading Acalanes to victory were Henry Souza and Sully Bailey. Souza picked up 129 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Bailey threw for 183 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Jake Boselli got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Mt. Diablo's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Acalanes, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Mt. Diablo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Acalanes will look to defend their home field on Friday against Vallejo at 7:00 p.m. Vallejo will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 434th, while Acalanes is ranked 134th).
