Softball Recap: Toms River East Comes Up Short

Toms River East fell victim to Donovan Catholic and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Griffins, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Griffins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 on April 3rd.

This is the second loss in a row for Toms River East and nudges their season record down to 3-7. As for Donovan Catholic, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 9-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Toms River East will host Central Regional at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.27 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Donovan Catholic, they will square off against Point Pleasant Boro at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
