Baseball Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short

Mountain View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 19-7 to the Sahuarita Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mountain Lions of the 11-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2022.

Mountain View saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zane Giron, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Sahuarita, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Catalina Foothills at 4:00 p.m. on March 24th. As for Sahuarita, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Empire at 4:00 p.m.
