After a string of eight wins, Oakridge's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They came up short against the Hockaday Daisies, falling 3-0. Considering the last time the Owls couldn't score was back in August, the team can't take the result too hard.

While Oakridge was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Hockaday's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18, 25-19.

Hockaday found their leader in sophomore Emily Boomstra, who had ten digs and three aces. Rory Madine also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Oakridge's loss dropped their record down to 22-3. As for Hockaday, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-17 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Oakridge is set to challenge their familiar foe St. Andrew's at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hockaday will take on rival Fort Worth Country Day at 6:00 p.m. on the 16th.
