Volleyball Recap: Rockmart Has No Trouble Against Rome

Rockmart hadn't done well against Rome recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets walked away with a 2-0 win over the Wolves. That looming 2-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Yellowjackets yet this season.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 26-24, 28-26.

Amazia Christopher paced Rockmart's offense, picking up three kills. Christopher were helped by Kimberlyn Pavon and Briley Malone, who contributed three assists each. Malone was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Rockmart's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Rome, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rockmart will host Heard County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rome, they will be playing at home against Gordon Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
