Basketball Game Preview: Bloom Blazing Trojan vs. Hillcrest Hawks

The Bloom Blazing Trojan and the Hillcrest Hawks will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest, having both just played. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bloom picked up another tournament win on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 48-32 victory over Hammond Central. The win continues a trend for the Blazing Trojan in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won three in a row.

Bloom's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaden McClellan, who shot 63% from the field en route to 11 points and six steals. Keiwon Gulley was another key player, putting up eight points and eight steals.

Meanwhile, Hillcrest was able to grind out a solid victory over Lincoln-Way Central on Tuesday, taking the game 46-33.

The win got Bloom back to even at 1-1. As for Hillcrest, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Bloom skirted past Hillcrest 58-56 in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Will the Blazing Trojan repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
