Basketball Recap: Lewis County Piles Up the Points Against Robert C. Byrd

Lewis County lost to Robert C. Byrd back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Lewis County Minutemen blew past the Robert C. Byrd Eagles 63-26. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Minutemen.

Lewis County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Payten Goodwin, who posted 16 points in addition to six boards and four steals. With that strong performance, Goodwin is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Ella Pinkney, who put up 12 points in addition to five assists and five steals.

Lewis County was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

The victory got Lewis County back to even at 2-2. As for Robert C. Byrd, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Lewis County will take on Philip Barbour in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Robert C. Byrd and Bridgeport will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
