Wheeler entered their tilt with New London on Saturday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Whalers. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Whalers back in April, they had to take a 9-5 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Mason Perkins, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Korbin Anderson, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Wheeler pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for New London, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8.
