Softball Recap: El Modena Find Success

El Modena came out on top against Canyon on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Vanguards took their contest against the Comanches 5-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-5 back in March.

Ashley Driskill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Parker Mayes, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Jocelyn Alatorre was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The victory got El Modena back to even at 12-12. As for Canyon, their record now sits at 14-10.
