Basketball Recap: Cedar Ridge's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Cedar Ridge's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They greeted the New Year with with a 53-39 victory over the McNeil Mavericks. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Raiders as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Cedar Ridge can attribute much of their success to Randall Guidry, who went 6 of 10 en route to 13 points along with five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Ciernia, who posted eight points and four steals.

Cedar Ridge's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-14. As for McNeil, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Manor the next time they take the court. McNeil will head out to face Manor at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Cedar Ridge will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th.
