Basketball Game Preview: Fike Demons vs. J.H. Rose Rampants

The Fike Demons will square off against the J.H. Rose Rampants at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fike has 24 straight victories, J.H. Rose has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, Fike humbled Hunt with a 75-35 victory. The Demons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Jamaria Freeman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, to rack up 30 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The game was her 19th in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emory Skinner, who on her way to 23 points.

Fike smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, J.H. Rose played a tough match last Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Jacksonville, falling 70-44. The Rampants were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-14.

Fike's win was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-0. As for J.H. Rose, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.

Fike came out on top in a nail-biter against J.H. Rose in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 41-38. Will Fike repeat their success, or does J.H. Rose have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
