Basketball Game Preview: Tampa Bay Tech Titans vs. Rich Township Raptors

The Tampa Bay Tech Titans will be taking part in a tournament against the Rich Township Raptors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Friday, Tampa Bay Tech was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 56-51 to Wharton.

Despite the loss, Tampa Bay Tech saw an underclassman step up: freshman Milaya Chapman went 10 for 25 on her way to 24 points and four steals. That was a full 47.1% of Tampa Bay Tech's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Jenesis Walker was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Tampa Bay Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Rich Township hadn't done well against Kankakee recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Rich Township walked away with a 50-40 win over Kankakee.

Rich Township has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points per game. As for Tampa Bay Tech, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-4.
