Preview: Liberty Christian Patriots vs. Pomeroy Pirates
The Liberty Christian Patriots will be home for the holidays to greet the Pomeroy Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty Christian will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
Last Tuesday, Liberty Christian came up short against Kiona-Benton and fell 58-49.
Pomeroy aren't just finding sucess at home, as their game on Tuesday extended their overall winning streak to six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse 75-19 at home. Pomeroy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five matches by 26 points or more this season.
Among those leading the charge was Jett Slusser, who scored 18 points along with six assists and five rebounds. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Oliver Severs, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Liberty Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Pomeroy, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Liberty Christian came up short against Pomeroy in their previous matchup back in February, falling 50-37. Thankfully for Liberty Christian, Trevin Kimble (who scored 19 points along with six assists and five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
