Central Cabarrus picks up 21st straight win at home

Recap: Central Cabarrus Vikings vs. Northwest Cabarrus Trojans

The Central Cabarrus Vikings put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Northwest Cabarrus 78-35 at home. Central Cabarrus might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won 11 games by 21 points or more this season.

Central Cabarrus had a senior duo take command as Chase Daniel scored 19 points along with six assists and six steals and Desmond Kent Jr. scored 24 points. The matchup was Kent Jr.'s 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Dalton, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and five blocks.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Gonder, who scored 12 points. Ezekiel Brown was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds.

Central Cabarrus pushed their record up to 12-0 with that victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 90.8 points per game. As for Northwest Cabarrus, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Cabarrus will take on West Rowan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Rowan is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they will be playing at home against East Rowan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Rowan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 549th, while Northwest Cabarrus is ranked 187th).
