The Knox Redskins will head out on the road to face off against the Pioneer Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Knox will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Knox will bounce into Monday's game after beating Bremen, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. The Redskins came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lions on Friday, sneaking past 2-1. That's two games straight that the Redskins have won by just one run.
Cheryl Barnes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Knox saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madalee Hinshaw, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Those two hits gave Hinshaw a new career-high.
Pioneer came out on top against Twin Lakes on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Panthers took their matchup against the Indians 8-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.
Pioneer also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Katelynn Haynes gave up only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lois Layer, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Hallie Lebo, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
The victory got Knox back to even at 12-12. As for Pioneer, their win bumped their record up to 16-10.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Knox hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. However, it's not like Pioneer struggles in that department as they've averaged .363. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Knox was able to grind out a solid victory over Pioneer in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 8-4. Will the Redskins repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
