Softball Game Preview: Forest Hill Falcons vs. Palm Beach Central Broncos

Forest Hill is 0-8 against Palm Beach Central since March of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Falcons are taking a road trip to face off against the Broncos at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Forest Hill was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Leonard on Wednesday. The Falcons' pitchers stepped up to hand the Lancers a 15-0 shutout. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Falcons as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Palm Beach Central's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Dwyer on Thursday. The Broncos walked away with a 5-0 win over King's Academy.

Not much got past Kacie Riggan, who gave up just five hits and racked up six Ks to keep King's Academy off the board. Riggan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alexia Sullo was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Kiah Haston also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Palm Beach Central pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Forest Hill, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-13.

Forest Hill suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to Palm Beach Central in their previous matchup back in February. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
