Football Game Preview: Coldwater Cavaliers vs. Marion Local Flyers

Coldwater hasn't had much luck against Marion Local recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cavaliers will head out to square off against the Flyers at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Coldwater will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up seven points last Friday, then bounced right back against Versailles on Friday. The Cavaliers really took it to the Tigers for the full four quarters, racking up a 44-14 win. The Cavaliers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Marion Local got themselves on the board against Minster on Friday, but Minster never followed suit. They blew past the Wildcats 42-0. Given the Flyers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Wildcats are ranked 226th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marion Local's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Coldwater, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Coldwater was dealt a bruising 35-0 defeat at the hands of Marion Local in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Cavaliers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
