Kyleigh Lamborn made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run.
In other batting news, Penn Manor let Scarlett Teran and Amelia Trout run wild. Teran got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base, while Trout went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Trout has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Mia Skiadas, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.
Penn Manor's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for J.P. McCaskey, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
J.P. McCaskey's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's contest. The Red Tornado have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Penn Manor, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will J.P. McCaskey continue to outrun the ball?
