Football Recap: Grandview Takes a Loss

Grandview fell victim to Winnetonka and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Griffins 42-0. The loss leaves the Bulldogs still looking for their first win of the season.

Despite the defeat, Grandview saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jordan Smith rushed for 210 yards while picking up 11.7 yards per carry. Smith is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 210 every time he's taken the field this season.

Grandview's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Winnetonka, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Grandview is taking a road trip to square off against North Kansas City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Winnetonka, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Tigers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
