Basketball Game Preview: Selah Vikings vs. Ellensburg Bulldogs

The Selah Vikings will challenge the Ellensburg Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Selah comes in on nine and Ellensburg on five.

Last Tuesday, Selah made easy work of Prosser and carried off a 65-44 win. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ellensburg). They were the clear victor by a 74-52 margin over Othello on Tuesday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Huskies are ranked 313th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ellensburg has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Selah, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Selah beat Ellensburg 68-60 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Does Selah have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ellensburg turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
