Baseball Recap: Sidwell Friends Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

On Tuesday Sidwell Friends's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers, sneaking past 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Quakers have posted since March 14, 2024.

Sidwell Friends pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Georgetown Day, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sidwell Friends will head out to face off against Landon at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Landon will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Sidwell Friends surely won't give up without a fight. Georgetown Day will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Potomac School at 4:30 p.m. on April 1st.
