Softball Recap: Bryan Station Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

Bryan Station had won three straight on the road, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 12-4 to make it four. They came out on top against the Henry Clay Blue Devils by a score of 7-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 two weeks ago.

Karsyn Rockvoan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than 12 strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tiahna Bowman was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. SaNiya Givens also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

As for Henry Clay, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Henry Clay's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Ella Smith gave up four earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Henry Clay saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jillian Franco, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Coming up, Bryan Station will host Scott County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Defenders 1.9, the Cardinals 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Henry Clay, they will venture away from home to challenge Rowan County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
