Basketball Preview: Universal Academy Falcons vs. Bayshore Christian Faith Warriors
The Universal Academy Falcons will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Bayshore Christian Faith Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
After a 71-64 finish the last time they played, Universal Academy and the Crusaders decided to play a little more cautiously this time around. Universal Academy fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 2-0. That was the first shutout Universal Academy has experienced all year.
Meanwhile, Bayshore Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight defeat. They took a 70-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Saint Stephen's Episcopal. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Universal Academy dropped their record down to 2-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.2 points per game. As for Bayshore Christian, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-19 record this season.
Universal Academy suffered a grim 76-52 defeat to the Faith Warriors in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Universal Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
