Baseball Game Preview: DeQuincy Tigers vs. Vinton Lions

DeQuincy is a perfect 10-0 against Vinton since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Lions at 5:30 p.m. DeQuincy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Vinton will be up against a hot DeQuincy squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Tigers walked away with a 7-2 win over Hornbeck on Monday.

Turner Rodriquez was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Noah Pettifield, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Vinton's offense. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (9-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost eight in a row.

Vinton's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for DeQuincy, their victory bumped their record up to 23-10.

DeQuincy took their win against Vinton when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 6-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
