Baseball Game Preview: Edgewood Crusaders vs. McFarland Spartans

The Edgewood Crusaders are taking a road trip to square off against the McFarland Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Edgewood's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so McFarland's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Wednesday, Edgewood and Lodi finished up on equal footing with a 7-7 draw.

Meanwhile, while McFarland put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Edgewood. The Spartans came out on top against the Crusaders by a score of 5-0. Surprisingly, this marked the Spartans' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

McFarland's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. With that draw, Edgewood's record moves to 9-3-1.

Edgewood couldn't quite get it done against McFarland in their previous meeting on Tuesday as they fell 5-0. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
