Louisa County is 8-2 against Charlottesville since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Black Knights at 6:30 p.m.

Louisa County fell victim to Western Albemarle and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Lions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Charlottesville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Waynesboro on Friday by a score of 9-7 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Julian Mark-Williams looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Charlottesville let Abe Jaspen and Jayden Butler run wild. Jaspen went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Butler went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave Butler a new career-high. Henry Hughes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Charlottesville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Charlottesville's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Louisa County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Everything went Louisa County's way against Charlottesville when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Louisa County made off with an 8-0 victory. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Black Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
