Football Game Preview: Father Lopez Green Wave vs. Orangewood Christian Rams + How To Watch

Father Lopez is 0-3 against Orangewood Christian since November of 2020 but things could change on Friday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. Father Lopez will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Father Lopez strolled past Crescent City with points to spare, taking the game 24-7.

Father Lopez found their leader in freshman Owen Albert, who rushed for 105 yards and one TD. Albert was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards.

Father Lopez was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 206 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Orangewood Christian played a tough matchup back in September in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 49-13 loss at the hands of Seffner Christian. The Rams were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Although Orangewood Christian took the loss, they still got scores from Grayson Hilinski and Jack Benson.

Father Lopez's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Orangewood Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Father Lopez has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 172 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Orangewood Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 94.2 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?

Father Lopez suffered a grim 36-15 defeat to Orangewood Christian in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can the Green Wave avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
