Volleyball Recap: Odyssey Institute's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Valley Christian, Odyssey Institute was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They skirted past the North Valley Christian Academy Lions 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Minotaur have posted since April 23, 2024.

Odyssey Institute had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 24-26, 25-14, 25-18, 15-12.

Francisco Orozco paced Odyssey Institute's offense, picking up 16 kills. Orozco got some help from Sebastian Cano and his 26 assists. Cano also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Logan McMahon, racking up three apiece.

Odyssey Institute's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-21. As for North Valley Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.

As of now, neither Odyssey Institute nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
