Basketball Game Preview: Beatrice Orangemen vs. Waverly Vikings

The Beatrice Orangemen will take on the Waverly Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Beatrice has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 18.

Last Friday, Beatrice came up short against Northwest and fell 52-41.

Meanwhile, Waverly was able to grind out a solid victory over Hastings on Thursday, taking the game 52-43.

Waverly's win came from a few key players Beatrice will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Isaac Clarke, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.1% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Heffelfinger, who posted 12 points and five assists.

Beatrice's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Waverly, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-17.

Beatrice came up short against Waverly when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 50-40. Thankfully for Beatrice, Reece Bader (who scored 20 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
