Baseball Game Preview: MacArthur Brahmas vs. Jay Mustangs

The MacArthur Brahmas are taking a road trip to square off against the Jay Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. MacArthur will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

MacArthur proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by six) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Southwest 5-4.

MacArthur's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sebastian Laboy-Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Laboy-Rodriguez a new career-high. Another was Diego Morillo, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Jay fell victim to South San Antonio and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Bobcats, falling 10-0. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost four in a row.

MacArthur's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Jay, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

MacArthur was able to grind out a solid victory over Jay in their previous meeting back in March, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Brahmas since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
