Recap: Fairview Knights vs. Horizon Hawks
The Fairview Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They lost to Horizon at home by a decisive 66-50 margin. Fairview has struggled against Horizon recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chloe Hickory, who scored 13 points. Remy Tolar was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Horizon had a senior duo take command as Natalie Thornton scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals and Madyn Kassatly scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlin Schumann, who scored six points along with two blocks.
Fairview's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Horizon, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
Fairview will head out on the road to square off against Mountain Range at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Horizon won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Prairie View at 7:00 p.m. on January 20th. Prairie View will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 130th, while Horizon is ranked seventh).
