Baseball Recap: Round Lake Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Round Lake had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Zion-Benton Zee-Bees on Tuesday, falling 13-0. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 17 in a row.

Round Lake saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christopher Amaral, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. That's the most hits Amaral has posted since back in April of 2024.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Round Lake will take on Woodstock at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Zion-Benton, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Wheeling at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
