Preview: Hemet Bulldogs vs. Elsinore Tigers

The Hemet Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Elsinore Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Hemet comes in on six and Elsinore on three.

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Hemet walked away with it. They came out on top against Rancho Christian by a score of 38-28 on Friday. 38 seems to be a good number for Hemet as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Daniel Mendoza had a dynamite game for Hemet, rushing for 223 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also picking up 34 receiving yards. Mendoza really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Draven Lopez, who threw for 114 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Meanwhile, Elsinore put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Brea Olinda, posting a 37-6 victory at home. With Elsinore ahead 30-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Elsinore's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Andrew Irvin, who picked up 62 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Robby Whitlock was another key contributor, throwing for 78 yards and three touchdowns.

Hemet pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.2 points per game. As for Elsinore, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Hemet suffered a grim 28-7 defeat to Elsinore in their previous meeting back in October of 2021. Can Hemet avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
