Baseball Game Preview: Dayton Greendevils vs. Newport Wildcats

The Dayton Greendevils are taking a road trip to challenge the Newport Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Dayton and 56 for Newport dating back to last season.

Things were looking good for Dayton after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Newport Central Catholic, falling 20-1.

Meanwhile, Newport fell victim to Villa Madonna and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Vikings.

Newport's loss dropped their record down to 0-31. As for Dayton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-17.

Dayton took their victory against Newport in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 19-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Greendevils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
