League recap: Iroquois stuns Union City in upset

District 10 Region 2 A recap Oct. 30, 2012

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Union City, who took down 524th ranked Union City, 44-18. Brandon Roda ran for 246 yards in the win.

Mercyhurst Prep extended the longest winning streak in District 10 Region 2 A this week by beating Cambridge Springs, 61-18. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Lakers.

Tj Hardy was the best wideout in the league this week as Youngsville fell to Eisenhower. Hardy racked up two receptions for 76 yards. Rocco Gatta helped Youngsville's passing attack out by catching one ball for 14 yards.

Thomas Higgins made the biggest impact on defense this week as Mercyhurst Prep bested the Devils. The 5-foot-9 senior racked up one sack.

Chad Eisenhooth put up the best numbers through the air as Cochranton topped Maplewood. He finished with four completions for 112 yards and one touchdown. Eisenhooth's favorite target this week was AJ Nageotte, who caught two passes for 74 yards.

Cornelius Barclay was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 296 yards as Matt Morgan's team fell to the Knights. Teammate Higgins added to the ground attack by rushing for 72 yards.

6-foot-1 quarterback Eisenhooth of the Cardinals is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1290. He has also thrown 16 touchdowns. On the ground, the Lakers' Barclay has rushed for 1591 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nathan O'Brien. The Eisenhower star has 24 catches for 530 yards.

Mercyhurst Prep took down Cambridge Springs 61-18 last week, the largest margin of any game. Barclay caught one passes for four yards in the win.
